Hi davidillo,

thanks for your post to keep it up!

In Germany no one working is happy about this EUR.
Pay per month is dropped down to (around) 50%.
Costs for living, insurance, ... not! All companies found way to push up prices in a short time.

I talked to our German Finance Manager, we where years ago across all the time. He said, the EUR is good for Germany, but I don't think so. ......

I would like to say > Ich möchte wieder die D-Mark! (I would like to have the D-Mark back)
It's illusion! We have to hang with all!

But,
@Henry,
this must be not 'your' way! We (working peoples) were 'cashed' by all, Goverment, Industry, ...

Think positive, I do also (with EUR)!

Cheers - Rolf

1) Not really true. The young people don't know the D-Mark.
2) The reason is not the Euro, but the whole economy. Do not mix up different issues.
3) The prices rose after the start with the Euro, but then they fell to normal again. Do not forget, that since Euro started in Germany there are more than ten years gone. Even with the D-Mark the prices would have been risen because of inflation.
4) The Finance Manager is right.

We should not turn back but find a good way to go straight forward. The sight back to late history would cause a wrong idea about what happened. Have a look 20 or 30 years back, and then step forward with steps of 10 years. Oops, nothing really new within this time - neither better nor worse. :pfeif: Different - this is true. Eulenspiegel,
we, here in Germany, one of the hardest part for this EUR: We have to pay a lot for other Countries! This we learned in a 2nd step.

I'm sure, the EUR will loose anything! It's a looser. We (=All) can't keep it secure.
It's a only a dream.
There are to different Nations in a to short time closed together.
It's not like the USA, they grow up Nation by Nation.
Here in Europe, it's another case. To different.

Hopefully our EUR will be good, but I don't think so - Rolf

Are you aware that the help for the other EC countries helps the German economy, too? By this the German companies get orders which means work for German people. Additionally the payment is because of the internal structure of the EC, but that has nothing to do with the Euro.

The problem of the different nations is true, but on the other hand sind the start of the "Montanunion" in 1956 it was a way (the only one - my opinion) to bring peace to Europe despite the different nations.
The other issue is, that even the USA is not a single nation. It is a melting pot with different people and different ideas of living together. Probably you've forgotten
the American civil war in 1861-1865, which was originated in economical differences between the North and South and the questions about slavery.
Even later there were a lot of differences between North and South.
A further question is whether the attention to "enemies" from Arabia (Cuba, whatever...) are diversions from internal trouble.

In my opinion the EUR is a balloon, that's going to bounce.

All announced rescue for Greece, Ireland and following would be take down 'our' Currency. And we are not at the end.
I think, it's the start of the end.

Cheers - Rolf
